Why Choose Us ?
Why Choose Us ?
Private pace, not a coach loop

Temple hours, rest days, and transfers are built around how you actually travel — not a brochure that tries to see everything.

Stays with a real view

We choose rooms for light, quiet, and location. Palace, villa, or city hotel: the category on the quote is the one you sleep in.

On-ground changes

Weather, festivals, and closed roads happen. You have a desk that answers, and a plan B that is not “see the parking lot”.

Clear pricing

Taxes, permits, and the boring extras sit on the quote. The number you approve is the number we work to.

About your Trip
  • Bhutan is licensed tourism, mountain roads, and a daily tariff that is not a rumour. We quote the SDF clearly so the number on the invoice matches the country you are entering.
  • Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha are a classic arc. Tiger’s Nest is a climb we time for your fitness, not a race.
  • Luxury is a hotel with heat that works, a driver who does not rush the passes, and a guide who can sit quietly at a dzong.
  • Altitude is moderate compared with Ladakh, but the stairs at Taktsang are still stairs. We do not pretend otherwise.
About your Trip

Best things to do during your Bhutan holiday

A short list we actually keep on the itinerary — not every attraction on the map. Pace, light, and the hours that still feel like a holiday.

Tiger’s Nest

Start early, rest at the cafeteria, and come down before the knees complain. We match pace to the group.

Tiger’s Nest
Punakha dzong

River, white walls, and a visit that is not squeezed between two long drives.

Punakha dzong
Thimphu craft morning

Weaving or paper, then a café. The capital is small; it does not need a checklist of twelve stops.

Thimphu craft morning
Farm lunch

One home kitchen on the road. It is better than a third hotel buffet.

Best time to plan your Bhutan holiday

Season changes the rooms, the crowds, and sometimes the roads. We match the month to the trip you want — not a single “best time” line for every traveller.

Peak Season
Peak Season • March – May & September – November

Clearer Himalayan views, festivals, higher demand for rooms.

Shoulder Season • December – February

Crisp, cold nights, fewer visitors. Pack layers; the light is excellent.

Shoulder Season
Monsoon
Monsoon • June – August

Green valleys, cloud on the passes, leeches on some trails. We keep more indoor dzong time.

How to book with Lux Trail Holidays: easy and transparent

How to book with Lux Trail Holidays: easy and transparent
  1. Enquire and customise

Tell us dates, who is travelling, and the pace you want. We send a first itinerary with hotels you can actually picture, not a generic PDF.

  2. Secure your booking

A deposit holds the rooms and the moving parts that sell out. The balance timeline is written down before you pay.

  3. Travel with a desk behind you

Drivers, tickets, and day-of changes sit with us. You keep the hours for the place, not for the logistics.

FAQ's

What is the SDF?

The Sustainable Development Fee is charged per night. We include it so the “from” price is honest.

Do we fly into Paro?

Usually, via Delhi, Kolkata, or Bangkok. The valley approach is weather-dependent; we keep a buffer.

Is Tiger’s Nest mandatory?

No. There is a viewpoint below the monastery if knees or altitude say stop.

Can we add Phobjikha?

Yes, with an extra night. Black-necked cranes in winter make it worth the road.

How do we start a booking?

Write to us with dates and who is travelling. We reply with a first itinerary, then lock rooms when you are ready to pay the deposit.

Reviews from travellers who went

The SDF was on the quote, the climb was paced, and Punakha was not a blur from a car window. That is all we wanted from Bhutan.

Family traveller

Clear quotes, hotels that matched the photos, and a desk that answered when a flight moved. That is why we used Lux Trail Holidays again.

From the first itinerary to the last transfer, the days felt looked after. We still talk about the trip as the one that was not rushed.
